A BUILD ministry at Christ the Redeemer

Originally called Koinonia (Greek for fellowship) Care, SideBySide is about biblical fellowship. Through our belief and fellowship with the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we have been brought into fellowship with one another. Christ prayed that His people might have fellowship with one another (John 17:21). Biblical fellowship is comprised of a local body of believers striving together for the sake of the gospel, embracing confession of sins, prayer, meeting together, and stimulating each other to love and good works (Hebrews 10:24-25).

What is SideBySide?

SideBySide is building a culture of care at Christ the Redeemer that builds biblical fellowship (Koinonia) by training SideBySide skills and fostering accountability. Emphasizing practical theology, SideBySide encourages the church to apply their theological knowledge to the nitty gritty of real life.

Who should be involved?

The Bible calls ALL Christians, as a priesthood of believers
(1 Peter 2:5,9), to minister to one another with the ultimate goal of growing in our unity of the faith, knowledge of Christ, and love for one another (Ephesians 4) through the power of the Holy Spirit.

How are we to do this?

We do this by journeying side by side with each other, bearing one another's burdens, admonishing, encouraging, and providing practical help and being patient with all.
(Galatians 6:2; 1 Thessalonians 5:14)
The SideBySide team will offer trainings in the Fall and Winter.

SoulCare

While the majority of care is done in fellowship through SideBySide care, there are times when complex situations require pastoral counseling from those who have received more training.

As SoulCare counselors, we strive to counsel in a way that is Holy Spirit dependent, anchored in Scripture, grounded in theology, founded in love, centered on Christ and the gospel, focused on the heart as our primary motivator, and compassionate (taking in the whole person).
If you are a regular attender of Christ the Redeemer and are in need of one-to-one SoulCare counseling, please complete the short intake form below and one of our counselors will be in touch with you soon.
