The vision of SoulCare grows out of the New Testament concept of koinonia, a Greek word often translated as fellowship. Koinonia reflects a shared life in Christ—marked by mutual care, bearing one another’s burdens, and walking together in faith, truth, and love.

What is SoulCare?

SoulCare is an equipping and training ministry for members and regular attenders at Christ the Redeemer to come alongside one another in love with wisdom, care, and Christ-centered presence, and provides pastoral counseling when deeper support is needed.

Training sessions will be offered twice a year to provide space to learn, discuss, and grow together as we apply biblical truth to everyday challenges, equipping us to walk wisely and faithfully alongside one another.

Who should be involved?

Everyone at Christ the Redeemer!

The Bible calls ALL Christians, as a priesthood of believers (1 Peter 2:5,9), to minister to one another with the ultimate goal of growing in unity of the faith, knowledge of Christ, and love for one another (Ephesians 3:18-19; 4:1-16; Galatians 6:2-10).

Biblical Counseling

SoulCare is primarily about equipping the body to care for each other; however, there are times when complex situations require counseling from those who have received more training to provide more focused support.

Biblical Counseling is one expression of SoulCare, offered for those facing more complex, prolonged, or particularly challenging circumstances. The counselors at CTR strive to counsel in a way that is dependent upon the Holy Spirit, anchored in Scripture, grounded in theology, founded in love, centered on Christ and the gospel, focused on the heart as our primary motivator, and compassionate as we take in the whole person.
